How Revelation reveals Europe in end time prophecy Before I went on my holiday to Kos, Greece in October 2005, my dad asked me to keep him any Euros that I didn’t spend. While I was shopping I happened to come across some Euros, and looking at the picture below you may understand the reason why my dad was so interested in getting his hands on one.The picture on the back of the Greek €2 coin is that of the Goddess Europa, who according to Greek mythology, rode on the back of a bull. As far as I understand, the bull was actually Zeus in disguise, and in the story he throws Europa off his back and rapes her.

But what has this got to do with Bible prophecy?
Listen to how the Apostle John describes the identity of the beast, the last world empire…
Revelation 17:3-6
So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.On the back of the Greek Euro, we have exactly the same image as the Apostle John describes. A woman, arrayed in purple and scarlet, sitting on a beast, with a cup in her hand. This of course is a symbolic description, but I believe John’s description is so vivid, and the characteristics of the woman are so peculiar, that they reveal beyond all doubt, the identity of the woman and the beast she rides.

A seven headed and ten horned beast
Revelation 17:9, 12-13
And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth... And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.The ten horns, as the book of Daniel also mentions, are ten kings that will give their power unto the Antichrist during the seven year tribulation period. The city of Rome is also known world wide as being the city that was built on seven hills, the “seat” of the Roman Catholic church.
A friend of mine Sam Jennings wrote a book on Revelation, called Alpha and Omega. He sees the seven heads of the beast as different aspects of the old world empires mentioned in Daniel, all amalgamated together. The seven kings represent the seven world empires that will rule over the kingdom of Israel. Five of these empires are past, one was still ruling in John’s day – Rome, and the other has yet to come and will continue a short while – Revived Rome or the European Union.
Revelation 17:7-11
And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns. The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.And there are seven kings: five are fallen,
(Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Medes and Persians, Greeks)and one is,
(Rome in John’s day)and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.

(I take it that this refers to when the 10 kings shall give their power unto the Beast, this shall become the eighth world empire, and will really be a form of the seventh head – Rev 17:12).Revelation 13:1-3
And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.Regarding the seven heads, all heads would have to exist in our generation in order for one to be wounded, otherwise this would only be a one headed monster. So perhaps the Revived Roman Empire is currently the main head, while the other empires still exist – only in a less substantial way. When this head is wounded and miraculously revived, all people will wonder after the system and the Antichrist. Only in the days of the 10 kings, when Christ returns to set up His Kingdom, will all seven heads be destroyed…
Daniel 2:44
And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.Riding on a sea of peoples
Revelation 17:15
And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.This last world empire will be a multi-lingual confederacy. No other regional bloc has more diverse languages and cultures than that of Europe. Even the European Parliament building was designed to look like a modern day tower of Babel, where God previously confounded the languages of all men back in Genesis 11:9. The fact that a woman rides the beast, and not a man, is significant. In the Bible, spiritually adulterous nations seem to always be portrayed as harlots, e.g. Ezekiel 23. The Roman Catholic church’s worship and prayers are also directed towards a woman, Mary Queen of Heaven. It was also said that Pope John Paul dedicated Europe, along with his own life, to Mary. And as we will see later, many Catholic depictions of Mary show her adorned with twelve stars, as does our picture of Europa. Both women, Mary and Europa, are also worshipped as Goddesses – perhaps in the case of Mary not in name, but she was recently given the status of co-Redemptrix making her effectively equal with God.
Purple and scarlet just happens to be the colours of the Vatican’s priestly garb. And it is estimated that Vatican city contains more wealth and riches than many nations combined. The cup of blood reminds us of the Roman Catholic communion, in which only the priest is permitted to drink from in contradiction of Scripture. And the blood reminds us of transubstantiation, the false belief that the wine in the cup actually becomes the physical blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Holy Spirit adds further emphasis on the blood, revealing that it is also a picture of how the woman has martyred the true saints of God, so much so that she is now become drunk on their blood. One of the most bloodiest times in the Roman Empire was during the time the book of Revelation was written, when literally millions of Christians were killed for entertainment, and sent into the catacombs of Rome with conditions so dank, life expectancy was only around six months.
Fornication here is of course in the spiritual sense. The Roman Catholic church has committed spiritual adultery with the religions of the world. Pope John Paul II possibly did more for the ecumenical movement than any other Pope.
I was forwarded the following information by my friend, John Vermeer, about the cup. A woman, presumably Mary Queen of Heaven, is adorned on many Catholic images holding a cup.
Pope Leo XII had the above medal minted in commemoration of the second year of his reign, the jubilee year of 1825. The back side of the medal reveals a depiction of a woman, sitting on the globe, holding a communion cup, while sitting on the world. The inscription reads SEDET SUPER UNIVERSUM, declaring that her seat of authority is universal, i.e., over the entire globe.
The image is full of Babylonian symbolism. The woman is not Mary at all, but represents Semiramis, the ancient Babylonian Madonna. The rays emanating from her head represent Nimrod, whom the ancient Babylonians believed died, and was transformed into the Sun. Babylonians believed Semiramis was conceived by the Sun, and gave birth to Tamuz, who it was believed was really a reincarnation of Nimrod. The cross depicted on the coin is not a Christian cross, it is really the old Babylonian letter T, which pagans have used for centuries in idol worship of their god Tamuz.
Europa is a great city that rules over kings
Revelation 17:18
And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.No other city in the world can make this claim apart from Rome. She has literally ruled over kings by threat and force for centuries (remember William the Conqueror, the Spanish inquisition, the Huguenots, etc), and still desires today to maintain her Holy Roman Empire.
A woman crowned with twelve stars
Revelation 12:1-2
And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.Another woman is mentioned in Revelation. Some say that this other woman represents Israel, and I would be inclined to agree with that viewpoint. This woman is crowned with twelve stars. If you look closely at the Greek Euro, our Europa is also crowned with twelve stars. The European Union flag is also made up of twelve stars on a blue sea. The official EU line is that the twelve stars of the EU flag represents completeness. But in actual fact, you will see Mary Queen of Heaven (not the true Mary) crowned with twelve stars in many Roman Catholic pictures. The twelve star European Union flag shows us that the woman (Roman Catholic church) truly rides the beast of Europe.
The other woman in Revelation, Israel, is crowned with twelve stars with the moon is under her feet. The twelve stars could represent Israel being controlled by the European Union, or more likely representing the twelve tribes of Israel. And the moon is always symbolic of the Messiah in Jewish tradition.
Genesis 49:10
The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.Possibly the reason why the moon is under the woman’s feet is because “between the feet” is the Scriptural description of where offspring find a place of protection from their parents. This is a picture of the promise of God, that the nation of Israel would give birth to the Messiah.
Revelation 12:5
And she brought forth a man child (Jesus Christ), who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.Europa is raped by the beast
Revelation 17:16
And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.Just like the story of Europa, this modern day confederacy will throw the woman off its back and rape her. The modern day Roman Catholic church currently rides the beast of Europe, but when the Antichrist comes to power, this worldly religion will have served its purpose and will be destroyed by the ten kings through God’s will.

She is respected and adored, since she is the Mother of God’s only Begotten Son Jesus. Not worshiped. Echnically, it is impossible for Catholics to “worship” Mary. “Worship” has been defined as applying only to “God”. The worship of Mary is termed “hyperdullation” or “veneration”, and of the Saints, “dullation”. Further, Catholics do not “pray to” Mary, they “ask Mary to pray for us.”

Not sure about this Europa being. But Mary Mother Of God is NOT worshiped as a goddess. And has not been placed on the same level as God.
When the Church invokes Mary under the title, “Coredemptrix”, she means that Mary uniquely participated in the redemption of the human family by Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Saviour. At the Annunciation (cf.Lk.1:38) Mary freely cooperated in giving the Second Person of the Trinity his human body which is the very instrument of redemption, as Scripture tells us: “We have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all” (Heb.10:10).
And at the foot of the cross of our Saviour (Jn.19:26), Mary’s intense sufferings, united with those of her Son, as Pope John Paul II tells us, were, “also a contribution to the Redemption of us all” (Salvifici Doloris, n.25). Because of this intimate sharing in the redemption accomplished by the Lord, the Mother of the Redeemer is uniquely and rightly referred to by Pope John Paul II and the Church as the “Coredemptrix.”
It is important to note that the prefix “co” in the title Coredemptrix does not mean “equal to” but rather “with”, coming from the Latin word cum. The Marian title Coredemptrix never places Mary on a level of equality with her Divine Son, Jesus Christ. Rather it refers to Mary’s unique human participation which is completely secondary and subordinate to the redeeming role of Jesus, who alone is true God and true Man.

One last thought. There is only one mediator between God and man! The Messiah, our Lord and Savior said “I am the way, the truth and the life, no man cometh to the Father but by me.” The Lord’s own testimony eliminates anyone and everyone except himself as SAVIOR and Mediator. I have made an adjustment. The beast with the two horns of Revelation chapter 13 is the Holy See and the state of Vatican City. They are separate and sovereign entities each with the Pope as head of state. The image of Revelation 13 is the European Union.

The Holy See is a separate sovereign entity with a Head of State, the POPE. The State of Vatican City is a separate sovereign entity with a Head of State, the Pope. First I must commend your Zeal for taking time to dig deep in search of knowledge I must also be quick to humbly say that you should rather do a more comprehensive research and then draw ur conclusion otherwise I see you running back here soonest to do some corrections and adjustment to ur previous posts. After Pagan rome fell and splitted in ten separate kingdoms they later sort for ways to unify once again the Roman empire and restore her back to her former glory. The best option was take advantage of the fast growing roman Catholic religion that has gained so much reception and influence because of its Syncretism of paganism and Christianity. The idea was to establish a roman catholic church state but three among the ten kingdoms rejected this idea and they were annihilated.
The three divisions which were plucked up where the Heruli in 493 the vandals and 534 and the Ostrogoths in 538. Justinian, the emperor, who we see was at Constantinople, working through the general Belisarius, was the power that overthrough the three kingdoms represented by the three horns, and the reason for their overthrow with their adherence to Arianism in opposition to the orthodox Catholic faith.(Source” – the book of Daniel, page 109)
After the three kingdoms were Anihillated, the remaining seven kingdoms unites together and a new Authority(little horn) came alive known as The Roman Catholic Religio-political institution. History told us that, Speaking of the time, about 500 A.D., when the Roman Empire was crumbling to pieces:] “No, the [Catholic] Church will not descend into the tomb. It will survive the Empire . . . At length a second empire will arise, and of this empire the Pope will be the master–more then this, he will be the master of Europe. He will dictate his orders to kings who will obey them (Source: Andrea Lagarde, The Latin Church in the Middle Ages, 1915, p. vi).
This little horn that arose among the ten horns and uprooted three of the horn is the Holy Roman empire and its the Beast from the sea of Revelation 13. The physical description of the beast as having a mouth of Lion, body of leopard and feet of Bear looks like borrowed words from Daniel on how he described the Beasts of Daniel 7.
1st beast looks like a lion…Babylona empire
2nd beast looks like a Bear…Medo-persia Empire
3rd Beast looks like a Leopard Greek empire
And we have seen that the fourth beast is the Roman empire with ten horns. The beast of Rev 13 is described as a combination feature of all the four Beasts of Daniel. This simply means that the Fourth beast which is Holy Roman Empire will have features of the past four empires.
How did this fulfilled in History?Until the death of Jesus and his resirrection, Resurrection there was no Antichrist. The reason is because it is the death and resurrection of Jesus that Authenticates Jesus as the “Christ”. Hence prior to the birth of jesus and even after his birth and all through his Earthly Ministry there was No Antichrist. But soon after his resurrection when the Church began the Antichrist showed up. The Antichrist started from within the Church of God. Jude has this to say:
Jude 1:1-4–Jude, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, To those who are called, sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ: Mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you. Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ
Take note..these men crept into the body of christ unnoticed with a new doctrine or ideology. And what is that ideology? They turned the grace of God into Lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus. Soon what started like a mere “new doctrine” grew fast like wild fire into a Religion. A religion that was appealing to highly Paganised people of rome because it doesn’t actually condemn their paganism rather it baptises their idols, rituals, gods, temples, Festivals and beliefs and indoctrinated them into Christianity.
Cardinal Newman admits in his book(The Development of the Christian Religion) the “temples, incense, oil lamps, votive offerings, holy water, Holidays, and seasons of devotion, processions, blessings of the fields, sacerdotal vestments, the tonsure (of priests, munks and nuns), images, and statues… are all of PAGAN ORIGIN.”“Confiding then in the power of Christianity to resist the infection of evil, and to transmute the instruments and appendages of demon worship to an evangelical use… the rulers of the church from early times were prepared should occasion arise, to adopt, or imitate, or sanction the existing rites and customs of the populace
Cardinal Newman lists many examples of things of “pagan origin” which the papacy brought into the church “in order to recommend the new religion to the heathen: “in order to recommend the new religion to the heathen:” “The use of temples, and these dedicated to particular saints, and ornamented on occasions with branches of trees; incense, lamps, and candles; holy water; asylums [hermitages, monasteries and convents]; [pagan] holy-days, processions, sacerdotal vestments, the tonsure, the ring in marriage, turning to the East, imagesCardinal Gibbons wrote in Faith of our fathers 1917 that,
The penetration of the religion of Babylon became so general and well known that Rome was called the “New Babylon.
Roman catholism took the Ancient religion of Babylon, Persian, greek and roman empire and blends them with Christianity to form an hybrid religion known as Roman Catholism thus combining the Lion(babylon), Leopard(greek), bear(persia), ten horn( Roman) religions to form an hybrid..This hybrid religion known as Roman Catholic religio-political empire is the beast from the sea that ruled from 538AD – 1798 during the french revolution when General berthier marched into Rome and dessolved the Papacy and established a Secular one thus giving the Seventh head its mortal wound that has been gradually healed.
From 538AD to 1798 is exactly 1260years which is exactly the duration the bible says the beast will reign 3 and half years. or 42months or 1260days. Prophecy students already knows that prophetically a Day is considered as a Year.Just as the reign of the Beast was coming to an end we saw a new beast(world power) coming into being which the bible described as the beast from the Earth. The United states of America had her declaration of independence in 1776 just as the holy roman was about coming to end. Gradually the united state grew to become the next World power thereby fulfiling bible prophecy. The Anglo america empire that comprises of The Untied states and Britian is the beast with two horns of a lamb but speaks like a dragon. And it is this empire that is currently ruling the world and is gradually setting up the image of the beast.
As Paganism infiltrated Christianity by the emergence of the Roman catholic church in the Early centuries, It started like a wrong doctrine that crept into christianity unnoticed.

I find that my interpretation is for the here and now. It is not futuristic. I will make any corrections to my words as I deem fit. The understanding posted by Xavier is familiar to me. I stand by my words. We are all free to believe whatever we want. Unfortunately the death toll described in the Book of Revelation is uncomfortable to put it mildly. The EURO fits the definition of CHARAGMA and in all fairness so does the U.S. DOLLAR. However,the dollar is not the mark of Rev.13. Satan, has made fools of the human race. The weapons in the LORDS ARSENAL are VAST and POWERFUL. GOD has already appointed man to die once! Do you want to make that DEATH PERMANENT?
